SPHA Special Announcement!
We are excited to announce that there will be an additional 2007 SPHA Team in the Hockey Super League for the upcoming 2018-19 season. Our staff will be lead by newly appointed Head Coach Dave Wilejto and he will be supported by his Assistant Coaches Brent Gitzel and Rob Morgan. Rob will wear two hats and will also act as the General Manager of the hockey team.
Dave Wilejto, the native of Burns Lake, BC brings a wealth of knowledge and past professional hockey playing experience to the SPHA. Dave played professional hockey for parts of four seasons from 1997 to 2001 and has been a coach for the past number of years. He is currently an RCMP officer and is eager to join the staff.
Brent Gitzel is a former Senior AAA Stony Plain Eagle player and has been an Assistant Coach for the Senior team in Stony Plain for the past three season. He has been heavily involved in coaching youth hockey as well, as he served as an Assistant Coach for the SPHA UP2 2007 team this past season.
Rob Morgan has been involved with the Northern Alberta Leafs Spring Hockey Organization and has coached youth hockey for many years. Rob will be taking on the role of General Manager and will also be assisting the coaching staff this upcoming season.
